Rails across North America – David Cable (7.5/10)

This book was a bit of a sleeper (railfan’s note that no pun was intended… honestly). It took some time to show its hidden treasures in the photos within the book, but Mr Cable’s adventures across the NA continent over the years have provided some great Industrial railroading content. While not obvious at first, the number of switchers represented is quite large and from some odd and assorted systems. There are of course many photos of Class 1’s represented and some of the northerly shortlines too.

Overall a very worthwhile visual resource for those modelling from the mid 1970s through the late noughties. This is a new release and follows on from other books in the series.
